Finally made it back to the Waiters restaurant. A staple in my diet for over 15 years. The Tortellini Bologna is one of the finest in town and cannot be passed up. Dennis, the affable owner was in fine form due to Italy's World Cup victory. Again, it won't be long until we stroll up the stairs and into one of the warmest, most delicious culinary delights we've ever had. Here's to another 15 years of Bologna.

I'm a regular visitor to
Melbourne Airport. A fine facility in the North/West fringes of the city. Apart from sending loved ones off or welcoming them back with open arms, it's hard not to get caught up in the emotion of the place. The International Depatures area is arguably the most tearful of them all. Hundreds of people pass by every day, where all dreams are realised or hearts broken. Who are these people? Why are they leaving? Whose left behind, yearning for their return. I could watch this spot all day, every day. Human spirit, love and trust is sometimes revealed as a tearful, climatic end.

.....Italy have won the World Cup (on penalties) over a gallant France. I thought the French dominated play, especially in the second half of normal time. They just didn't show enough going forward (Although malouda was a threat). What was Zidne doing? Obviously the Italian defender has made some comments towards Zizou. What a way to go out. Anyway, the Socceroos did us proud and now we can only say "bring on Sth Africa 2010"
