I've been up all hours of the morning taking in the FIFA World Cup. In Australia, coverage is provided by the fabulous SBS. Les Murray and his merry men (and women) have taken me through the highs and lows of all games so far. One of the gems is of course no stranger to Australian ears. The best commentator in the world, Martin Tyler is gracing us just about every night with his brilliantly understated performance behind the microphone. Superb.

After a 32 year absence from the biggest competition in the world, The
FIFA World Cup,
Australia's appearance certainly didn't let us down. Although, it has given us some heart palpitations. The game against Japan didn't have the perfect start with a dubious goal being allow. Aussie keeper, Mark Schwarzer was fouled (clearly). However, the referee didn't see it that way and the goal stood. In the second half, coach Hiddink made his moves bringing on attackers Kennedy, Cahill and Aloisi. To the delight of fans, Australia surged in the last 10 minutes, scoring 3 goals and grabbing a vital win to send them top of the group. A stunning result. Go you Socceroos!

You Am I are back in a big way. This new record, 'Convicts' rocks....HARD. Tim is back to his growling best, Rusty's banging the skins harder than ever before, Davvy shimmers on guitar and Andy reverberates with some killer bass lines. This is the best thing they've done for (dare I say) a number of years. Get to a record store, starts downloading from iTunes...whatever you do, get this album. "God Bless the Fucking Lot of Us"
