Tropfest is one of the worlds largest short film festivals. Now in it's second decade, thousands of people turn out in major capital cities around Australia to watch the 16 finalists. All films must be 7 mins or less in length and must include a reference to the yearly theme (2006's theme is 'Bubble'). Films come in all shapes and sizes, with animations sitting alongside lush coastal themes. Hosting the show is done in Sydney and it must be noted that unlike the fine weather in Melbourne, Sydney put on a show of mass precipitation. Unfortunately, the final three films weren't shown in the Harbour city. Much to the laughter of 10,000+ Melbournians. Results of the winners will be announced in a press conference later this week.
